Federal Charges Filed in Fatal Fentanyl Overdose and Rape of FIT Student
Federal prosecutors have charged two men with distributing fentanyl and rape after a Fashion Institute of Technology student died in March 2026. The accused, Moises Freire, allegedly told the victim the drug was cocaine, but it was fentanyl, causing her to fall unconscious and die days later. A third man, Harry Rosales Pino, already pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges related to the drug supply chain. The case highlights ongoing concerns about campus safety and fentanyl-related deaths.
