FFXIV’s Evercold Expansion Brings Evangelion Crossover, Switch 2 Release, and Major Combat Overhaul

Square Enix unveiled Evercold, the sixth Final Fantasy XIV expansion, at the FFXIV Fan Festival 2026 with a January 2027 launch on PC/Mac/Steam/PlayStation/Xbox and an August Switch 2 release. The update adds two new jobs, raises the level cap to 110, introduces new cities and dungeons, a new raid series and Ultimate raid, PvP updates, and a major combat overhaul with Reborn and Evolved modes, plus broader system changes (seasons overhaul, Armoury, expanded customization). It also includes a crossover alliance raid with Evangelion (khara).
