Halide 3.2 and Final Cut Camera 2.4 unlock full variable aperture control for iPhone 18 Pro
Lux Optics and Apple have released major updates for Halide and Final Cut Camera, respectively, to fully leverage the new variable aperture hardware on the iPhone 18 Pro. Halide 3.2 allows users to select any f-stop between f/1.48 and f/4.0, surpassing the limited presets in the native camera app. Simultaneously, Apple updated Final Cut Camera to support aperture and shutter priority modes, along with new professional video scopes and clean SDI output. Both updates also introduce new visual styles and workflow improvements for professional creators.
