Seattle Puts Bus Priority on Denny Way with New Lane and I-5 Ramp Overhaul
Seattle will speed Route 8 on Denny Way by adding a new eastbound BAT bus lane between 5th Ave and Stewart St and permanently rerouting the southbound I-5 ramp, closing the Yale slip lane and diverting traffic via Howell/Boren; the changes, timed for August with a fall service upgrade boosting Route 8 frequency from every 15 to every 12 minutes, follow years of transit advocacy and are part of broader bus-priority efforts funded by the Seattle Transit Measure.
