MSAR figures show rising flyaway costs for all F-35 variants in lots 18–19: A to $92 million (up 11.5%), B to $121.4 million (up 11.4%), and C to $110.8 million (up 8.5%), driven by inflation, raw materials, and supply-chain pressures as Lockheed ramps to high-volume production. The program now targets 296 aircraft across both lots, with 20 international customers (primarily buying the A variant). Ongoing Block 4 upgrades and other modernization efforts are underway, though some components remain uncertified for combat, and total lifecycle costs are projected to exceed $2 trillion.
