Metroid Dream Inspires Immortality Studio’s New FMV Horror, Precognition
Immortality Studio (Half Mermaid) revealed Precognition, an FMV sci‑fi horror about a woman who gains visions of the future via a brain implant and records them as memories. It originated from Sam Barlow’s long‑concealed idea for an FMV Metroid game that proved too dark to pitch, and is described as non‑linear with strong player agency and a notebook‑style approach. Canadian director Brandon Cronenberg is writing, with a release planned for PC, PS5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2 in spring 2028. It’s not connected to Samus Aran or a Metroid game, but rather a new, darker standalone experience.
