Nor'easter Breaks Snowfall Records in New York City
New York City experienced its snowiest day in over two years as a winter storm swept through the Northeast, leaving 3.2 inches of snow in Central Park. The city had been in a snow drought, enduring a record 701 days without an inch of snow until a recent 1.4-inch snowfall. While the snowfall fell short of forecasts, nearby areas saw higher accumulations. Forecasting the storm was challenging due to narrow bands of heavy snow, marginal temperatures, and fluctuating model forecasts.
