Virginia Governor Demands Public Release of FPL 'Robo Memo' Amid Merger Scrutiny
Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger has demanded that NextEra Energy make the 'Robo Memo' public as part of the review for its $67 billion merger with Dominion Energy. The memo, linked to Florida Power & Light's past political scandals, was filed confidentially by NextEra. Spanberger also called for a six-year freeze on residential electricity rates and increased bill credits, while State Corporation Commission staff recommended denying the deal unless additional safeguards are met. A final decision is expected in January 2027.
