Multiple Jan. 6 Capitol rioters convicted and sentenced for their actions
Gabriel Garcia, a former member of the Proud Boys and Miami-Dade GOP Executive Committee, has been found guilty of two felonies related to his involvement in the January 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol. Garcia was accused of aggressive confrontations with police, aiding other rioters, and recording himself inside the Capitol. He has been convicted of civil disorder and obstruction of an official proceeding, which carry a maximum prison sentence of 25 years. Garcia is one of several South Florida-based Proud Boys members facing charges related to the Capitol riot. Sentencing is scheduled for March 28, 2024.
