Xbox explores offering timed game slices and ads.
Xbox is exploring new gaming models such as "timed slices" of games or games with ads, in addition to its current Game Pass and Gold membership models. Sarah Bond, the corporate vice president for games at Microsoft, said providing creators with options and choice enables them to experiment and create more immersive and creative experiences without having to fit into a mold. Xbox is also facing restrictions from UK regulators and criticism from some developers who feel Game Pass hurts sales.
