Jonas Vingegaard’s Visma-Lease a Bike won the Stage 1 team time trial in Barcelona, taking the first yellow jersey of the Tour de France 2026. He leads the general classification by eight seconds over Filippo Ganna (second) with Tadej Pogačar (third) 12 seconds back, Juan Ayuso (fourth) 16 seconds back and Remco Evenepoel (fifth) 19 seconds back.
Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) surged to victory on the final climb of Corno alle Scale to win Giro d'Italia stage 9, with Felix Gall taking second and Giulio Pellizzari third, while GC leader Afonso Eulálio retained the pink jersey heading into the rest day, sitting several minutes ahead of Vingegaard in the overall standings (~2:24).
Adam Yates of UAE Team Emirates claimed the yellow jersey and leads the general classification after stage 1 of the Tour de France. His brother Simon Yates is in second place, followed by teammate Tadej Pogačar in third. Thibaut Pinot and Michael Woods round out the top five. Several riders, including Enric Mas and Richard Carapaz, suffered setbacks due to crashes.
