Nvidia's RTX IO, a GPU-accelerated asset loading and decompression feature, promises faster load times, smaller install sizes, lower CPU utilization, and reduced texture pop-in in PC gaming. Tested in the game Portal: Prelude RTX, RTX IO demonstrated a 38% reduction in install size, significantly faster texture loading times, and decreased CPU utilization. The feature works on any DirectX 12 graphics card and supports Vulkan extensions.
