Millions of Nexgrill Brush Recall Ties to Dangerous Detaching Bristles
More than 10 million Nexgrill wire-bristle grill brushes are recalled after bristles detach and can be ingested, potentially causing serious injuries and even requiring surgery. The CPSC has logged 68 incidents with at least five medical removals; Nexgrill urges consumers to stop using the brushes and is offering $5–$15 gift cards as refunds. The recall covers brushes sold at Home Depot and online from 2015–2026, with model numbers 530-0024 through 530-0042. Medical experts warn ingested bristles can lodge in the throat or digestive tract and be hard to detect, sometimes necessitating CT scans or surgery.
