Porsche unveils the 911 GT4 R, its first GT4 race car based on the 911 platform, powered by a 4.0-liter flat-six delivering up to 520 PS (BoP-adjusted), designed for global GT4 competition with a 2027 debut and a US price of $375,500 including import and delivery.
Porsche has revealed the 911 GT4 R to replace the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, using the 911 Cup-based platform to support a ladder from one-make racing to GT3. Powered by a 4.0L flat-six with up to 520 hp, the GT4 R debuts in the IMSA Pilot Challenge at Daytona and is eligible for GT4-series under SRO rules. It weighs about 1,515 kg (vs. 1,260 kg for the Cup), has a smaller rear wing and narrower wheels to fit GT4 regulations, and carries a $375,000 price tag in the U.S. with deliveries starting in Q3, with display planned for the 24 Hours of Spa.
Assetto Corsa Evo’s V0.6 update adds the Audi R8 LMS GT4 Evo to its lineup, completing a pack that already includes Ferrari 288 GTO, Ferrari 296 GT3, Ford Mustang GT3, Lamborghini Countach LP5000 Quattrovalvole, and Porsche 911 GT3 R Rennsport, with Sebring International Raceway as the track. The update also brings a 2026 Nordschleife refresh plus AI/UI/physics tweaks, and servers will be down for two days ahead of the release.
Porsche has confirmed that the 718 T, Spyder, and GT4 models will be discontinued for the 2024 model year, with the GT4 RS and 718 RS Spyder filling the gap. Other updates include changes to the color palette and the discontinuation of a CD player. Porsche has revised the entire 718 range with small changes, likely in an effort to streamline production and avoid options that are rarely selected.
