Body Worlds creator Gunther von Hagens dies at 81, requests his body be plastinated
Gunther von Hagens, the developer of plastination and creator of the Body Worlds exhibitions, has died at 81 after a brain haemorrhage, having suffered Parkinson's disease for years. His exhibitions, viewed by more than 58 million people, sparked ongoing controversy from religious groups. Von Hagens had requested that his own body be plastinated after death, and his family said they intend to honour that wish.
