Severe Weather Threat and Heat Advisory: Stay Safe and Prepared

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Halifax County, specifically Enfield, Halifax, and Scotland Neck areas, with recorded lightning strikes and strong winds. Central NC is under a heat advisory with feels-like temperatures ranging from 103 to 109. There is a level 3 risk of severe weather for Halifax and Northampton counties, with a level 2 risk of strong-to-severe storms in the afternoon and evening. The week will continue with hot temperatures and elevated humidity, with a cold front approaching and increasing the threat of severe storms. July 4 will bring a few spotty storms, mainly south of the Triangle and along the coast.
