Brand Trial: PA Testimony Highlights 'Insane Appetite' and Normalized Misconduct
In the third week of Russell Brand’s rape and sexual assault trial, former personal assistant Helen Berger testified that Brand possessed an 'insane sexual appetite' and that his behavior was normalized by staff. Berger, who worked for Brand from 2006 to 2007, described a chaotic work environment where Brand frequently sought sex during work hours and asked her to collect phone numbers from female fans, a request she refused. While Berger stated she never witnessed illegal acts, she noted that colleagues dismissed his conduct, leading her to believe such behavior was accepted. The trial, which involves six women alleging seven offenses between 1999 and 2009, continues with the prosecution nearing its conclusion.
