Stalking case culminates in Panera Bread shooting and Highway 50 standoff
A 22-year-old man stalked a 38-year-old woman for months, allegedly entering her home and following her after she found an AirTag, before fatally shooting her outside a Sacramento Panera Bread. He died by a self‑inflicted gunshot during a Highway 50 standoff after police located his vehicle; the incident came amid earlier Highway 50 disruptions that day, including a deadly pursuit and a pedestrian fatality.
