Dad abandons 7-year-old on Mount Fuji to finish climb, police reprimand
A 48-year-old father from Nagoya left his 7-year-old son alone at around the sixth station on Mount Fuji while climbing with his older child. A mountain hut worker found the boy hours later, and police reprimanded the father, urging hiking groups to stay together and pace themselves around the least fit climber. The child was unharmed and safely reunited with his father; authorities have not announced formal charges.
