Hoiberg Named Naismith Coach of the Year Finalist After Historic Nebraska Season
Nebraska head coach Fred Hoiberg is one of four finalists for the 2026 Werner Ladder Naismith Men’s Coach of the Year after leading the Huskers to a school-record 28-7 season, their first NCAA Sweet 16, a 24-game win streak, 15 conference wins and a second-place finish—the program’s best in more than three decades. Finalists also include Arizona’s Tommy Lloyd, Michigan’s Dusty May and Duke’s Jon Scheyer; the winner will be announced April 5 at the Naismith Awards Brunch during the Final Four, with fan voting counting for 5% of the total vote.
