The United Arab Emirates' Hope spacecraft has created a new global map of Mars by stitching together 3,000 images, offering a fresh perspective on the planet. The map shows Mars in its true light, with natural colors. The main scientific objective of Hope is to study how weather conditions near the surface affect the speed at which Martian air leaks into outer space. The map-making process took months, and the same method could be applied to other spacecraft visiting other worlds.
