Water crisis deepens in Iran as US strikes hit reservoir tanks
Iran says two water storage reservoirs in Hormozgan were destroyed by U.S. air strikes, leaving about 20,000 residents without safe drinking water as tensions escalate after Iran downed a U.S. helicopter. The U.S. says it targeted Iranian air-defence and radar sites near the Strait of Hormuz in what it calls a proportional response. Local authorities are deploying tanker trucks and pumping systems, but rebuilding the damaged reservoirs will take time and risks jeopardizing fragile ceasefire diplomacy.
