Hyundai halts 2026 Palisade sales, initiates recall after seat‑related incident linked to a child's death
Hyundai is stopping sales of certain 2026 Palisade Limited and Calligraphy models with power seats and planning a recall of about 68,482 vehicles (60,515 in the U.S. and 7,967 in Canada) after a 2-year-old girl died in an incident involving the second- and third-row seat controls. The recall is under development and will be free of charge; an over‑the‑air software update is expected by the end of March, and owners are advised to ensure no one is in the seat area during operation and to avoid pressing the seatback button during entry/exit.
