Portland I-5 Southbound Reopens Early After Rose Quarter Overhaul
Southbound Interstate 5 through Portland’s Rose Quarter reopened on October 7, 2026, approximately 10 days ahead of the original schedule. The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) attributed the early completion to favorable weather and 24-hour construction efforts. While the main lanes are open, ODOT warns that ramp and lane closures will continue as crews restore traffic controls. A similar closure for northbound lanes is planned for next summer.
