Arriviello, was arrested after a road-rage shooting on I-77 in Virginia near the North Carolina line that injured a 20-year-old and a 12-year-old in a Jeep; he was charged with multiple felonies and jailed at the New River Valley Regional Jail.
A Charlotte physician, Richard T. Ariviello, 61, was arrested in Carroll County, Virginia after allegedly firing into a moving Jeep during a road-rage incident on I-77, injuring two sisters (ages 12 and 20) with non-life-threatening injuries. He faces several felonies, including malicious shooting into an occupied vehicle and use of a firearm while committing a felony, and was taken into custody near Exit 19; the Jeep driver is charged with reckless driving as the investigation continues.
One person is dead and another seriously injured after a crash on I-77 in Charlotte early Sunday morning. The incident occurred in the northbound lanes near Sunset Road around 3 a.m. All lanes have since reopened.
