Kacey Musgraves faces MAGA backlash after urging donations for immigrant children

At a Chicago show launching her Middle of Nowhere tour, Grammy-winner Kacey Musgraves paused to urge donations to the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights, saying it’s not political and that children separated from families deserve help. The moment drew backlash from conservative commentators and fans online, while supporters note her long history of backing immigrant rights and LGBTQ+ causes and her collaboration with the Young Center and related fundraising efforts.

Kacey Musgraves Pushes for Donations to Immigrant-Children Charity, Sparks MAGA Backlash

Kacey Musgraves, while celebrating her 38th birthday in Chicago, urged fans to donate to the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights, a group aiding unaccompanied immigrant children with legal aid and financial support, saying it would mean a lot and that it isn’t a political statement. The appeal drew backlash from conservative MAGA voices, including Tomi Lahren and Rob Schmitt, who criticized the cause; Musgraves has previously supported immigrant-related efforts, such as inviting mariachi teen brothers to open for her earlier in the year.
