Searchlight Acquires Lorraine Nicholson’s Feature Debut 'Playmates' Starring Lily-Rose Depp and Bill Pullman
Searchlight Pictures has acquired the rights to 'Playmates,' a Los Angeles-set coming-of-age drama marking the feature directorial debut of Lorraine Nicholson. The film stars Lily-Rose Depp as a Playmate hopeful and Bill Pullman as Hugh Hefner, alongside Indiana Elle as a 13-year-old girl who considers the Playboy Mansion her home. Nicholson wrote the script based on her own childhood experiences at the estate. The project is produced by High Frequency Entertainment and will be overseen by Searchlight executives DanTram Nguyen and Katie Goodson-Thomas. This acquisition follows Searchlight's recent announcement of 'The Families Stone' and precedes the release of two Oscar contenders, 'Wild Horse Nine' and 'Behemoth!', later this year.
