Microsoft blocks Windows 11 patch on Dell devices over stability bugs
Microsoft has blocked the Windows 11 July Patch Tuesday update KB5101650 on Dell PCs after Dell reported instability, including unexpected shutdowns, overheating, poor performance, and battery drain—caused by a conflict between the Intel Innovation Platform Framework Processor driver and the new Windows USB-C Connection Manager. Dell devices with the update should rollback to a prior version, and Microsoft is working on a fix with no immediate block on the June 23 optional update.
