Pochettino Launches 2030 Cycle with Youth-Heavy USMNT Roster

Mauricio Pochettino has announced a 28-player roster for the United States men's national team, marking the start of the 2030 World Cup cycle. The squad features 16-year-old Cavan Sullivan and 23-year-old Gio Reyna, while omitting veterans like Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie due to fitness issues. The team will play four friendlies in September and October, including matches against Peru, Chile, Mexico, and Canada. Pochettino emphasized a new approach focused on youth development and long-term principles, noting that the team is entering a four-year cycle distinct from the previous World Cup preparation.
