Michigan State Names Dan Bartholomae as New Athletic Director

Michigan State University has hired Dan Bartholomae, the current athletic director at Western Michigan, to lead its athletic department. Bartholomae replaces J Batt, who departed for Kentucky after a brief tenure. The hiring follows a turbulent summer for MSU, which also saw its president, Kevin Guskiewicz, briefly consider leaving for Clemson. Bartholomae, who has led Western Michigan to a national hockey title and a conference football championship, is expected to start on August 31. The move aims to stabilize the department, which faces significant debt and major facility renovation plans.
