Chipotle Removes Jalapeños Nationwide After Salmonella Tied to a Single Lot
Chipotle has proactively removed jalapeños from all U.S. restaurants after Minnesota health officials linked a single lot of peppers to a Salmonella Javiana outbreak that has sickened about 110 people in Minnesota, with 89% reporting Chipotle exposure. The FDA’s CORE database lists the outbreak as active with hundreds of related cases nationwide, though no recall has been issued and investigators say other restaurants may be affected.
