Stewart Family Endorses KJ Apa's 'Jimmy' Biopic Ahead of November Release

KJ Apa has received official approval from the family of the late actor and WWII aviator Jimmy Stewart for his portrayal in the upcoming biopic 'Jimmy.' Kelly Stewart-Harcourt, Stewart's daughter, praised Apa's performance as authentic rather than an impersonation, noting that he successfully captures her father's distinct mannerisms without relying on caricature. The film, directed by Aaron Burns and written by Justin Strawhand, is scheduled for a theatrical release on November 6, 2026. It chronicles Stewart's transition from his Academy Award-winning role in 'The Philadelphia Story' to his service as a combat pilot in the U.S. Army Air Force, and finally to his iconic role in 'It's a Wonderful Life.'
