Mejia Leads Dems in NJ-11 Special Primary as Hathaway Secures GOP Nomination
In New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District special primary held Feb 5, 2026, Democrat Analilia Mejia leads a four-candidate field with about 28.75% of the vote (17,692), ahead of Tom Malinowski (27.97%), Tahesha Way (17.43%), and Brendan Gill (14.21%) as 61,528 votes have been reported and roughly 91% of the estimated total counted. On the Republican side, Joe Hathaway has been declared the GOP nominee. The winning Democrat will face Hathaway in the April 16 general election to fill the remainder of Mikie Sherrill’s term.
