Root and Cox rescue England from collapse to complete 3-0 sweep of Pakistan
England won the third Test at Edgbaston by eight wickets to complete a 3-0 series sweep of Pakistan. After a disastrous start to the fourth day, where Ben Duckett and Emilio Gay were dismissed in the first over, Joe Root and Jordan Cox batted out the innings. Root survived a no-ball that would have dismissed him, while Cox anchored the chase with a composed 59. The victory ends a turbulent summer for England, who had recently changed captain and coach, and secures a clean sweep for the first time in two years.
