Streets of Rage Movie at Lionsgate Chooses Sonic Writers, Names Jeymes Samuel to Direct
Lionsgate is moving ahead on a Streets of Rage film from Sega, hiring Pat Casey and Josh Miller—the writers behind Sonic the Hedgehog—for the screenplay and tapping Jeymes Samuel to direct. The project, which had seen Derek Kolstad previously pen a draft, is produced by Sega, Story Kitchen, Escape Artists and others, and is described as leaning into the beat-’em-up game's cult status and iconic music.
