The Arizona Cardinals waived running back Trey Benson on Monday, August 24, 2026, citing a recurring knee injury that has limited his career to 17 games. Simultaneously, the team activated pass rusher Josh Sweat from the Physically Unable to Perform list. The Philadelphia Eagles and defensive end Josh Sweat have restructured his contract, guaranteeing him $10 million with a max value of $13 million, impacting the team's roster strategy for the defensive line. The team is likely to trade Haason Reddick, aiming to maintain their pass rush effectiveness while getting younger and acquiring future assets.
