A Cessna aircraft crashed near Juba, the capital of South Sudan, killing 14 people.

A small passenger plane operated by CityLink Aviation crashed about 20 km southwest of Juba, killing all 14 on board (pilot and 13 passengers, including 12 South Sudanese and two Kenyans). The Cessna 208 Caravan had departed from Yei at 09:15 local time with contact lost about 30 minutes into the flight; adverse weather/low visibility is suspected. Investigators are en route to the crash site. South Sudan has a poor aviation safety record with multiple past crashes linked to aging aircraft, weak regulation, overloading, bad weather, and pilot error.
