"Discovery of Cryptic New Species: Pregnant 'Dwarf'-like Creature Found on Tree in Uganda"
Scientists in Uganda have discovered a new species of lizard, the Karamoja dwarf gecko, during fieldwork in the Karamoja region. The gecko, which reaches about 3 inches in size, has a slender body, rounded snout, and distinctive chevrons on its throat. It is considered a "cryptic" species due to its camouflage and is primarily found on trees. The researchers also identified four other new species of dwarf geckos during their study.
