Microsoft patches sign-in outage with out-of-band KB5085516 update
Microsoft issued an optional out-of-band update (KB5085516) to fix a sign-in outage for Microsoft accounts across Teams, OneDrive, Edge, Office apps and more that surfaced after the KB5079473 patch; Entra ID/Azure AD users are not affected. The update is available via Windows Update or the Microsoft Update Catalog and follows other emergency patches for Windows 11 (Bluetooth visibility and RRAS vulnerabilities) as well as guidance for Samsung Galaxy Connect-related C: drive issues.
