Ex-chef pleads guilty in online sales of lethal nitrite linked to 14 suicides
Former Canadian chef Kenneth Law pleaded guilty to counselling or aiding suicide for selling sodium nitrite online to people who used it to end their lives; 14 murder charges were withdrawn under a plea deal, with sentencing set for September. Prosecutors say he shipped thousands of packages to more than 40 countries, including about 160 Canadian addresses, and the case sparked international investigations into related deaths.
