Everest Becoming Drier and Rockier, Says Record-Holding British Climber
British climber Kenton Cool, who made his 17th ascent of Mount Everest, has said that the mountain is losing snow and becoming "dry and rocky". He believes that the lack of precipitation could be due to global warming or other environmental changes. Climate scientists have said that warming across the Himalayas has been greater than the global average. Cool plans to climb Nepal's Kanchenjunga and Makalu before bidding farewell to Everest in 2-3 years.
