Killing Floor 3's creative director, Bryan Wynia, confirmed in an interview at Gamescom that microtransactions in the upcoming FPS game will be cosmetic-only, with the aim of avoiding a "pay to win" model. The developers want to continue the trend of providing free updates, such as maps, as seen in Killing Floor 2. They are currently exploring ways to create a cosmetic-only microtransaction system that allows players to express themselves and coordinate outfits with their teammates. The monetization plan is still being developed, but the goal is to stay true to the Killing Floor brand and franchise.
