Pakistan Strikes Afghan Border Areas, Killing Civilians After Kohat Attack
Pakistan conducted air strikes in eastern Afghanistan on Monday, targeting suspected militant hideouts. The attacks killed at least three civilians in Kunar province and injured four others, according to Afghan officials. Pakistan claims 28 terrorists were killed. The strikes follow a deadly suicide bombing in Kohat, Pakistan, that killed 21 people, which Islamabad blamed on groups based in Afghanistan. Kabul has formally protested the strikes as a violation of sovereignty.
