The study utilized a new technique to analyze the effect of 26,000 mutations on the protein structure and identified known weak points targeted by approved drugs, as well as a previously unknown weak point called cavity 3. This breakthrough could pave the way for the development of new drugs targeting allosteric sites against cancer and other diseases.
