Upcoming Close Encounters with Asteroids: A Compilation of NASA's Warnings.
Asteroid 2023 DZ2, part of the Apollo family of asteroids, will safely pass Earth at half the distance of the moon on March 25, 2023. The asteroid was discovered by astronomers at the La Palma Observatory in Spain and is estimated to be around 210 feet in diameter. While there is a small risk of impact in 2026, further observations are likely to rule out this possibility. People with telescopes should be able to spot the asteroid as it passes by.
