Central Synagogue assault suspect posted Israel and Judaism content online
The man accused of attacking a woman and a security guard at Central Synagogue in Manhattan reportedly had a Facebook page filled with posts about Israel and Judaism and had expressed a desire to convert to Judaism; after his arrest he allegedly insulted congregants and faces two counts of assault as hate crimes and one count of criminal mischief as a hate crime, with a court appearance set for August 20. He has three prior robbery arrests.
