Journalists at Le Journal du Dimanche, France's only dedicated Sunday newspaper, have ended their 40-day strike over the appointment of far-right editor Geoffroy Lejeune as editor in chief. The strike resulted in the influential weekly missing six consecutive issues. The newspaper's staff acknowledged that they would either have to leave or work under the new leadership. The strike, the longest in French media since 1975, ended after an agreement was reached with the owners, Lagardère Group. The JDD's website will return, and the print edition will resume in the middle of the month.
