Goodell Extends NFL Leadership With Four-Year Deal Through 2031
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell signed a four-year extension to lead the league through the 2030 season (expires March 31, 2031), with more than 95% of compensation tied to league performance via the Compensation Committee and an independent consultant. The deal coincides with the expiration of the players’ CBA in 2031. Since 2006, Goodell has helped drive revenue toward a $25B+ goal by 2027 and expand the NFL’s global footprint, including nine international games in 2026 and the record $9.612B sale of the Seattle Seahawks.
