Leander Powerball Ticket Wins Half of $20M Jackpot, Florida Prize Pairings
A Powerball ticket sold in Leander, Texas, matched all five numbers plus the Powerball in the May 2 drawing to win half of a $20 million jackpot that will be split with a Florida winner; Georgia also had a $2 million winner. This marks the second time in a few days that two jackpot-winning tickets were sold for the same drawing. Winners are advised to plan with financial advisers due to taxes and other considerations before claiming.
Texas dominates as fastest-growing cities in the US, Austin now 10th largest.
Six of the 15 fastest-growing cities in the US are in Texas, with Georgetown leading the list with a population increase of 14.4%. The next three fastest-growing cities were also in Texas - Kyle, Leander, and Little Elm. Texas was the only state to have more than three cities on both the 15 fastest-growing large cities and towns by numeric change and by percent change lists. Rockwall joined the list of cities with populations of 50,000 or more in 2022, and New Braunfels crossed the 100,000-population mark in 2022. Harris County and Travis County were two of the five counties with the largest numeric gains in housing units.
