
Key-Sized Teeth Uncover 16-Million-Year-Old Oreodont in Badlands
A hiker in Badlands National Park found a tiny row of fossil teeth, no bigger than a house key, dating to about 16.3 million years ago. The teeth belong to Leptauchenia, an oreodont related to camels, highlighting the Badlands as a rich source of ancient North American fossils.
